I have assumed that you already know what HTML is, have tried giving it go and are now looking to expand your HTML vocabulary or learn more about the code used. (If you haven't reached this stage yet, see NCSA's Beginner's Guide to HTML for some excellent beginner's info).
I have compiled all the HTML elements and associated attributes I am currently aware of - I do not propose that this an absolutely comprehensive guide, but hopefully there's enough stuff here for it to be of some use. All HTML 4.0 elements are included, as well as most unofficial elements including Netscape and Microsoft extensions.
I have been writing web pages for since 1994 and I am a member of the HTML Writers' Guild. I also wrote Pompeii Interactive, the Crate Research and Application Project, Chicken-Tikka-Masala.co.uk and my own web site. In other words, what you read here is my personal interpretation of HTML - I hope it is of some use. If you disagree with anything I say or have something to add, please feel free to mail me. This Guide was written using the gorgeous HTML Notepad.
Here's what you'll find...
